Each day this week, pick a product that sits in one place for most of its life. Imagine how that product would change if it could move around, and sketch the new product. Here are some examples:

  • A refrigerator that could wander around your house
  • An alarm clock that could fly out of reach when you won’t get up
  • A desk chair that could take you underwater

These products don’t need to make much sense. The goal is to draw something you imagine (instead of just what you see) and have some fun while you do it. So be a little crazy, and don’t worry if this week’s sketches aren’t perfectly feasible products.

If you’re having trouble thinking of ways to move around, try some of these:

  • Bounce off walls
  • Hop on the ground
  • Float in the air
  • Float on the water
  • Glide through the air
  • Glide across a surface
  • Walk on 2 (or more) legs
  • Climb
  • Roll
  • Spin

How the daily sketch prompts work

New sketch prompts will appear every Monday. Each week will have 6 sketch prompts that focus on a theme. Pick one sketch prompt and do one 20-30 minute sketch every day, 6 days a week. Then take a day off and start again with the next weeks’ post.
